Newsletter n°9 / December 2013

Dear all,

- The fourth colloquium of the GDR - IQFA took place from the 20th to the 22th of November 2013 at the University Paris Diderot - Paris 7. We would like to thank all the numerous participants that made this event a success.

  • The workshop gathered more than 150 participants, which represents our top score. A half of them are PhD students and Post-docs, and 20% came from abroad. This demonstrates the excellent dynamics initiated by the GDR - IQFA.
  • During these three days, we could listen to the recent advances in quantum information, put in context of the thematics identified by the GDR (ARTs). We would like to warmly thank our invited speakers for their contribution to the scientific excellence of this workshop.
  • The PDF versions of the presentations are now available for upload by following the link Paris 7 presentations.
  • We could also see during the poster sessions, the lunches, as well as the colloquium dinner, that many discussions took place. This is very positive since promoting scientific discussions and potential partnership is one of the prime missions of the GDR

- Finally, we are very pleased to announce two events:

  • The GDR - IQFA supports a School for young scientists on "Quantum Physics and Computer Science", that will be held in Sèvres from June 15 to June 20 2014. For those who are interested please follow this link Quantum Physics and Computer Science School.

-* In case of renewal, the next colloquium of the GDR will take place at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon (Espace Charles Mérieux), from November 17 to November 19 2014. The list of invited speakers will be communicated later.

Once again, we would like to thank all the participants to the Colloquium 2013 in Paris 7, and look forward to meeting you soon in Lyon. Please let us wish you a happy new year 2014.
