Newsletter n°16 / Décembre 2017

Dear all,

- The 8th Colloquium of the GDR IQFA (IQFA 8) took place from the 28th of November to the 1st of December 2017 at the University Côte d’Azur (UCA) in Nice. We would like to thank all the numerous participants that made this event a success.

  • The colloquium gathered around 150 participants. A half of them were PhD students and Post-docs, and 20% came from abroad. This demonstrates the excellent dynamics initiated by the IQFA network, among young scientists and beyond the CNRS boundaries !
  • During these three days, we could listen to great Tutorial Talks, as well as to recent advances in quantum engineering given by Invited Speakers, within the framework of IQFA’s identified thematics (ARTs). We would like to warmly thank all of our speakers for their contribution to the scientific excellence of this colloquium.
  • We could also see during the poster sessions, the lunches, as well as the colloquium buffet, that many discussions took place. This is very positive since promoting scientific discussions and potential partnerships is one of the prime missions of IQFA network.

- Finally, we are very pleased to announce two important notes :

  • IQFA is about to be rebooted by the CNRS for a new period of 5 years. This means that IQFA events will be pursued and we count on you for next joint successes.
  • IQFA’s 9th colloquium (IQFA 9) will take place at the University of Montpellier, around mid-November 2018. So save the date !

—

Once again, we would like to thank all the participants to IQFA 8 at UCA, and look forward to meeting you in Montpellier next year. Please let us wish you in advance great Christmas holidays and a happy new year 2018.
