Newsletter n°13 / December 2015

Dear all,

- The 6th Colloquium of the GDR IQFA took place from the 18th to the 20th of November 2015 at Institut d’Optique Graduate School (IOGS) in Palaiseau. We would like to thank all the numerous participants that made this event a success.

  • The colloquium gathered more than 160 participants. A half of them are PhD students and Post-docs, and 20% came from abroad. This demonstrates the excellent dynamics initiated by the IQFA network !
  • During these three days, we could listen to the recent advances in quantum information and quantum simulation, placed in the framework of IQFA’s identified thematics (ARTs). We would like to warmly thank our invited speakers for their contribution to the scientific excellence of this workshop.
  • We could also see during the poster sessions, the lunches, as well as the colloquium buffet, that many discussions took place. This is very positive since promoting scientific discussions and potential partnership is one of the prime missions of the GDR.

- Finally, we are very pleased to announce two upcoming events:

  • The next IQFA’s colloquium (the 7th) will take place at Telecom ParisTech, Paris downtown, around mid-November 2016. So save the date !
  • IQFA is about to organize the first French meeting between Academical and Industrial stakeholders in Quantum Engineering and Technologies. This meeting is meant to encourage potential and effective collaborations between those partners and will take place in Paris downtown during Spring 2016. More information is about to be published on IQFA’s website.

—

Once again, we would like to thank all the participants to the 2015 IQFA’s Colloquium at IOGS Palaiseau, and look forward to meeting you in Paris downtown next year. Please let us wish you in advance a happy new year 2016.

—
