Quantum Malta 2012 - Fundamental Problems in Quantum Physics

par Sebastien_Tanzilli - publié le

Dates : 24 - 27 April 2012

Venue : University of Malta, Valletta Campus

- "Quantum mechanics is certainly imposing. But an inner voice tells me that it is not yet the real thing. The theory says a lot, but does not really bring us closer to the secret of the ’Old One’. I, at any rate, am convinced that He is not playing at dice". (Einstein, 1926).

- The conference will bring together the leading scientists worldwide, working in quantum mechanics and its fundamental problems. Four major research areas will be covered, reflecting the current state of the art in the research :

  • Quantum Theory without Observers
  • Effective Descriptions of Complex Systems
  • Quantum Theory meets Relativity
  • From Theory to Experiments.

- Organisers :

  • Dr Angelo Bassi (Department of Physics, University of Trieste)
  • Prof. Detlef Dürr (Mathematisches Institut, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München)
  • Mr Jackson Said (Department of Physics, University of Malta)
